-Environment Sustainability-
What do you do for the environment and what does it mean to be a sustainable business? At Partybots, we take the environment serious in regards to our work, product and artwork. It is an issue that is larger then us by far, but we believe it is still our responsibility to pitch in. Traditional screen printing can be a hazardous and chemically filled process. There are many things we do at Partybots to make sure that we use the most current and eco-friendly processes for our printing and production. Many printers use an aerosol adhesive to keep apparel in place on-press. We use a natural, water-based product that is both non-toxic and works like a charm. We have also discovered a company that makes some of the best screen-printing solvents in the world using renewable soy. We know it’s hard to get excited about solvents, but in a world of contaminated drinking water and hazardous waste, we're absolutely psyched about these.

-donation, giving back-

What do you do for charity and giving back to the community? Partybots is proud to support The Mercy For Animals Non-Profit Advocacy Organization. $2 from every online apparel sale and 5% from all wholesale order get donated to Mercy For Animals to help assist in their efforts for animal compassion, education, investigations, grassroots activism and more.

What is “mercy for animals”?
Mercy For Animals is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit animal advocacy organization. Founded in 1999 and over 25,000 members strong, MFA works to create a society where animals are treated with the respect and compassion they so rightly deserve.

MFA believes non-human animals are irreplaceable individuals with morally significant interests and hence rights. This includes the right to live free from unnecessary suffering and exploitation.

MFA is dedicated to establishing and defending the rights of all animals. Over 99% of cruelty to animals in the United States occurs at the hands of the meat, dairy, and egg industries - which confine, mutilate, and slaughter over 9 billion animals each year. As such, MFA primarily focuses on farmed animal advocacy and promoting cruelty-free food choices.

MFA works to be a voice for animals through powerful consumer education programs, proactive advertising campaigns, groundbreaking undercover investigations, working with news media, and grassroots activism.

What is “organic cotton”?

Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture. Third-party certification organizations verify that organic producers use only methods and materials allowed in organic production.* (*All info above taken directly from the Organic Cotton Trade Association website (ota.com))

Low Impact Dyeing?

There are two main factors when considering low impact dyeing:

Dye or Dyestuff components:

1. Natural components are water soluble
2. Fixation rate is 70% or more
3. No heavy metal content

Dye Processes must follow these methods:
1. Heat reclamation on site.
2. Water filtration on site.
3. No salt added to dye bath

Low impact dyeing should presumably be restricted to the use of dyes and dye mixtures which omit heavy metals. As well, dyes which require large amounts of rinsing may be considered higher impact than dyes which use less water. Low impact dyes must have a fixation rate of 70% or more. The better absorption rate allows for less dyestuff to be used, which then allows for less water to rinse out the excess residue. During conventional dying processes, large amounts of water are used to get rid of the dyestuffs that do not attach to the fibers in the fabric. This is wasteful and has a negative impact on the environment.

Facts to know about the Alternative Earth 40’s organic and the 20’s Eco-Heather fabrics:
•Our fabrics are dyed using low impact dyes and dye methods.
•They do not contain any heavy metals or other known toxic substances.
•They are not petro chemically based.
•The absorption rate is in average of 75%!
• 25% of the water used will be expelled to a treated waste water discharge.
•Our fabric softeners are bio-degradable.

100% Organic Cotton:
The Alternative Earth organic cotton is a 40 singles knit jersey. 100% of the cotton is organic. Our fabrics will be fabric dyed in low impact dyes/methods in Peru, cut and sewn and then garment washed in a biodegradable fabric wash, called a satin wash. This is just like our 40’s pima finish. Fabric weight: 100 grams/sq meter, or 3.5 ounces/yd.

Eco Heather Fabric Family:

This fabrication is 20 singles jersey knitted with the same old school processes as our current vintage gray heather p.e tees to get the heathered affect you see now. The contents are as follows:
•38% cotton, of which 7% is organic cotton
•50% poly, of which 7% is recycled polyester
•12% rayon, all rayon is pure cellulose, a complex carbohydrate formed in the cell wall of plants. Fabric weight: 150 grams/sq meter, or 4.4 ounces/yd.

Twitter Feed:

“Drawing is one of the most important factors of my existence. It is how I communicate my observations, experiences & world with the people that contribute to it.” — Karl Addison

Founded in 2003 by Seattle artist Karl Addison, Partybots is an environmentally conscience business with two goals: to be actively creative everyday and to have as little impact on the environment and the creatures that inhabit it.

To be actively creative takes hard work, dedication, imagination, and experience. Each one of Karl’s designs is an original piece of art that represents beats—small changes—that happen around him everyday. Taken as a whole, his body of work represents graphic souvenirs from his travels around the world, from Tokyo to his front porch.
